Free Poker is For Everyone
Free poker is probably a bit deceiving. It doesn’t mean that you can enter a casino, sit down and just start playing. What free poker actually is, refers to playing with the best and worst poker players over the internet. It is free only because there are free websites. You just log on and sign up. There are many free sites. The process of finding the site that is good for you will take trial and error. Once you find the site that is suited for you, bookmark it so you can get to it every time. Once you have played awhile on this site, you can then venture to other free sites which might challenge you a bit more. As you build up your skill you can keep moving on to even more challenging sites until you feel that you have mastered the “free” sites. Once you have done that, it is up to you whether you want to branch out to a more “dangerous” game or stick to the safety of the free sites.
So how does this compare to real poker where you are sitting across the table from someone? Well, since you are playing online you are not seeing your opponent or anyone else at the table. But then they are not seeing you either. It is both an advantage and disadvantage. You can’t see their reactions but they can’t see yours either. Being that this is online poker, the rules are a little more strict.
Know the rules before you begin. This will be of great benefit and make your game much more enjoyable. Here are some tips to help you out on the free site:
• The highest hand is five of a kind. (if the use of a wildcard is part of the rules, then the fifth card is a wildcard)
• The royal flush (cards of the same suit from ten, jack, queen, king, ace) is the hand you want to beat.
• Straight Flush (consecutive value from two, three, four five six of spades) is the next best possibility.
There are several hands you can have that are important according to their ranking. These are:
• Four of a Kind (one value card of all different suits)
• Full House (three suit cards of one value and a pair)
• Flush (card hand if you have five cards of same suit)
• Straight ( different suits of consecutive rank)
• Three of a Kind (no pair to make full house)
• Two Pair (two sets of a pair)
• One Pair (one set of a pair)
• High Card (ace, king, queen)
These free sites can give you a wealth of experience in learning how to play the game. They will also give you the confidence to keep moving up to the more difficult levels as you become more proficient.
